High quality vegetable seed, the start of every successful cultivation. Healthy seed, pure and true to type, reliable, easy to sow, and with a perfect germination capacity. That is exactly what the grower asks for, the whole year through! Highly advanced techniques ensure production and distribution of this top quality seed by our Seed Operations department.

Seed production, processing and distribution

Our production stations are strategically situated on both the northern and southern hemisphere. With at least two production cycles a year, we can quickly satisfy new seed requests, whenever needed. Indeed, we can start cultivating at any time thanks to our own production station in Tanzania, Africa.

After production, all seed is transported to Enkhuizen where our Seed Operations department processes it to the ideal seed: easy to sow and promising a reliable yield. We clean the seeds, sort and disinfect them. We package them, check the quality and stock them, ready to be shipped to our customers.

Seed technology and quality

Seed quality means healthy seed with a perfect germination capacity. Besides routine quality control, we conduct thorough research to new testing methods. By doing so, we can guarantee an even higher quality, especially when germination and seed health is concerned. The first focuses on priming, a treatment to break dormancy and to ensure fast, uniform germination.

Our seed health research strives to improve the disinfection methods and the methods to detect seed borne diseases. We also researches how the seed coating process can be optimized, enabling us to perfectly apply pesticides easily and in precise dosages on the seed.
