With a new generation of cucumber varieties, Enza Zaden responds to the growing area of artificial lighting cultivations combined with high-wire systems and a higher plant density. Toploader is the first variety from the new assortment and is developed specifically for the Dutch market. Last winter, this variety performed very well in the artificial lighting cultivations. The crop grows steadily, it is vigorous but open, very well-balanced and it gives a high production. The results of this variety were also very good for the summer cultivations with regular and smaller planting distances. Especially unique is the combination of vigour and hardly any fruit abortion. The intermediate resistance against Powdery Mildew further completes the list of advantages. The cucumber quality is excellent and the fruits, dark green coloured, are uniform and well filled.
