You’re good at monitoring several projects at the same time and able to keep the overview. These qualities and your experience in the field of research is your input as a Senior Researcher Phytopathology. That’s your contribution in granting worldwide access to healthy, varied vegetables.
As Senior Researcher Phytopathology, you independently establish and maintain research programs with regard to Solanaceous crops. You will use technologies and theoretical input from multiple disciplines and combine them into new and practical working methods.
Working smarter and more efficient while maintaining, or improving, quality is the main challenge that you and your team will face. Your role is to manage the department efficiently in order to achieve the team goals. Resulting in implementation of (new) research methods and techniques. Of course, you keep up-to-date with developments in the field of Phytopathology.
The activities in our Phytopathology department serve the development of plant resistance traits, diagnosis of plant diseases, study of plant-pathogen interactions and collaboration with (international) partners. We work together with many different people, within and outside of Enza Zaden.
We have strong links to breeding, seed health research, and biochemistry and molecular biology. We also have many partnerships with academic partners.
• Academic qualification preferably with a specialisation in the field of research.
• minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Demonstrable experience as a chairperson / member of project teams
• Fluent in English, Dutch and Spanish is an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Furthermore, you are innovative, analytical, and result-oriented. Thanks to your clear communication, you are able to work at various levels and to establish/maintain business relations. You maintain an extensive network of internal and external contacts, amongst others with people at universities and research centres.
