You are a real catalyst when it comes to bringing teams together. You create synergy and integrated solutions by connecting Cell Technology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Phytopathology with our breeders. In doing so, you help accelerate our research processes.
You define a global BTRA strategy that will enable Enza Zaden to expand its leading position in the vegetable seed market. As a pioneer in innovation, you easily inspire and encourage open communication between the Global Management Team and our other teams. In this way, you help bring technology and operations together. Your direct leadership to Cell Technology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Phytopathology has a high impact on all employees involved. You get excited by leading the operational side of science, and you monitor performances closely. The optimisation of these performances increases output and efficiency while reducing costs. You guide the teams through the on-going growth of our organisation and the various dynamics that come with it. In your job you will experience a lot of freedom and possibilities to brainstorm and come to new innovative solutions.
The strong communications and management skills you bring help you to build solid relations between all colleagues. Your long-term vision on plant biotechnology is of great value to the future of Enza Zaden. You embrace any change necessary to achieve your goals. You also easily (guide) the implementation of innovations thanks to your experience. Previous experience within an American biotechnology organisation would be highly advantageous.
Enza Zaden is a vegetable breeding company that develops vegetable varieties. We produce and sell our seeds all over the world. We supply to both conventional and organic growers.
Our goal is to grant people access to healthy vegetables, anywhere in the world. Every day, more than 460 million people worldwide eat our vegetables. So, we are getting there... but there is still plenty of work to be done. Of course, we look further than just the present needs. In 2050, when there will be about 10 billion inhabitants on our planet, we also want to make sure that people have access to healthy vegetables.
To achieve this, our vegetable breeders work with the best that nature offers. Supported by state-of-the-art technologies, we can speed up our breeding process considerably. This is vital, as currently, the development of a new vegetable variety takes at least 6 years. We focus on higher yields, resistance to diseases and pests, and resilience to climate extremes such as heat and drought. And of course, also taste, shelf life and nutrients. The results? Hardy, healthy, tasty and climate-proof vegetable varieties with higher yield per square metre and less need for crop protection products or fertilizer. In short, sustainability is in our DNA.
Our head office in Enkhuizen is our home base, but we have colleagues all over the world. Enza Zaden is an independent family business, consisting of around 2000 employees from more than 40 nationalities that work closely together in international teams.
