As Project Manager R&D Business Support you help to effectively run processes and spent resources on R&D activities worldwide by supporting the global R&D team on different topics.
One of the main topics of R&D Business Support is the R&D Funnel Management program in which more than 500 active research and breeding projects are covered. The Project Manager is responsible to coordinate this program together with a team of 2 R&D secretaries. This overview helps the R&D management team to monitor their activities and support strategic decisions. The team is working with a new software tool, that creates a comprehensive overview of the status of projects and portfolios. This tool will also be further implemented by the Project Manager in close relation with ICT and R&D colleagues. To enhance the progress of the projects you will preside over the meetings where a multi-disciplinary stage gate board is evaluating projects.
Depending on priorities of the R&D Business Unit the projects you work on will differ. In this highly dymamic environment you will work on generic R&D related topics, like legislation, digitalization or subsidies.
The Project Manager holds a central position, helping to realise the R&D strategic plan. There is constant interaction with many stakeholders worldwide. You will report to the Manager R&D Business Support.
As Project Manager R&D Business Support you are a supportive and proactive project- and process manager. You have a broad interest in R&D related topics and are eager to learn and adapt on new concepts quickly. Being capable to control more tasks at the same time is necessary to be successful in this function. You can work independent, but you are also able to work in a cross-functional network. Excellent communication skills in both oral and written in English is a must. Dutch is a plus. You can operate easily in intercultural project teams.
In short, you:
Enza Zaden is a vegetable breeding company that develops vegetable varieties. We produce and sell the seeds of these varieties all over the world. Both for conventional and organic growers.
Our goal is to grant people access to healthy vegetables. Anywhere in the world. Every day, more than 460 million people worldwide eat our vegetables. So, we are getting there ... but there is still enough work to be done! Of course, we look further than present needs. In 2050, when there will be about 10 billion inhabitants on our planet, we also want to make sure that people have access to healthy vegetables.
To achieve this, our vegetable breeders work with the best that nature offers. Supported by state-of-the-art technologies to speed up our breeding process. And that is really necessary, because currently the development of a new vegetable variety takes at least 6 years. We focus on higher yield, resistance to diseases and pests and climate extremes such as heat and drought. And on taste, shelf life and nutrients. The results? Strong, healthy tasty and climate-proof vegetable varieties with higher yield per square meter and less need of crop protection products or fertilizer. In short, sustainability is truly in our DNA.
Our head office in Enkhuizen is our home base, but we have colleagues all over the world. Enza Zaden is an independent family business, where around 2000 employees from more than 40 nationalities closely work together in international teams.
