Short Day Onion Sirius F1

Sirius F1

Mid maturity Short Day, light brown skinned onion. This variety has large (70 -100+mm depending on location and seasonal factors) globe shaped bulbs with good skin retention and excellent yield potential. It has a mild and sweet flavour with good firmness and storage ability for this type of onion. In the field it has shown superior tolerance to Downy Mildew compared to many other Short Day varieties. A feature of the bulb is the upright tight neck which favours curing. Plant during mid-late Autumn in a wide range of latitudes from the tropics to 35+ degrees. Maturity time is 22 -26 weeks after seeding, depending on location, seasonal factors and planting date.
