Mexico

In Mexico, our breeding and trialing station is based in Culiacan, Sinaloa in the northern region of Mexico. This site was chosen because of the extensive crop growing activities in the area, and to be representative of both nationally and internationally oriented growers.

Sinaloa is known for growing a wide range of fresh vegetables, but the region’s main crops are:

  • Tomatoes; beef, plum (Roma) and grape varieties
  • Blocky peppers; green in open fields and colored varieties in protected agriculture systems
  • Cucumber; slicer and LET varieties
  • Zucchini and eggplant

Our breeding and trialing efforts mainly focus on these crops. As we are a multi-local company, we breed and trial varieties for the Mexican market and for other countries that share similar growing habits and profiles.

Organic facility

We have recently opened a functional, 100% certified growing area for Vitalis, our organic seed subsidiary. This will enable growers to make the best selection of growing materials from an organic perspective.
