Onion Python

Python

A late Short Day - early Intermediate brown hybrid possessing medium to large (70 -90+mm depending on location, seasonal factors and planting date) globe shaped bulbs.

Python is a late short day to early intermediate day transition brown onion hybrid, adapted for production in most onion growing regions throughout Southern Africa. Python’s superior bulb attributes take onion quality to the next level – it produces firm, uniform, globed shaped bulbs which is complemented by attractive, tough, multi-layered dark brown skins. The latter characteristics contribute to the variety’s renowned storage potential, which enable growers to store bulbs for long periods, therefore providing an option to market bulbs over an extended period i.e., flexibility in the market period. Python seeds are size graded and treated as standard.
