Post-harvest research

Actual data to improve our products

Enza Zaden develops new vegetable varieties that are grown, sold and consumed all over the world. With our genetics we help customers and chain partners to serve and please their customers better.

To improve Enza Zaden products, we use actual data. This data we collect, amongst others, through post-harvest research. Post-harvest research literally means ‘research after harvesting’. So this means, we analyse and test the full grown product.

5 focus points for post-harvest research

Our post-harvest research activities focus on:

  1. taste,
  2. shelf life,
  3. fresh cut quality,
  4. nutrition and
  5. chill tolerance.

This data gives us good insights in the characteristics of our products. We use this information for the positioning and improvement of our varieties. It also helps customers to choose the right variety for their market. With the information we get from post-harvest research we can better attune our products to the end-consumers needs.
