Information
Many growers in the south and southeast of Brazil struggle to find iceberg lettuce varieties resistant to winter diseases under rainy and high humidity conditions. Enza Zaden Brazil recently introduced Piedade, which can be sown between March and July and is very tolerant to bacterial disease. Irineu Hirata, our Product Development Manager, says that a constant variety of choices is essential to combat local disease pressure.
Our multi-local approach allows us to stay close to our customers and markets while leveraging our global expertise: we breed where the market is. We have received positive feedback from our growers and will continue breeding to feed the world.
