We are proud to announce the launch of the brand new Enza Zaden Nordics webpage, a dedicated regional platform designed to support and connect with growers, partners, and agricultural professionals across Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland. The new page marks an important step in our ongoing commitment to providing localized support, relevant product information, and market specific insights for this specific region.
As the agriculture industry in Northern Europe continues to evolve, driven by advanced greenhouse technology, sustainability ambitions, and a demand for high quality, locally produced vegetables, our mission remains unchanged: "To help growers succeed with strong genetics, reliable seeds, and knowledge that truly fits the regional climate and production systems".
We have been active in the Nordics for over 25 years, steadily expanding our presence and deepening our relationships with growers, distributors, and industry leaders.. From our first trials with local growers to today’s close cooperation with distributors and grower networks across the region, our footprint has steadily expanded. These long standing relationships have helped shape a portfolio that truly fits Nordic growing conditions.
This new webpage is a reflection of the strong foundation we’ve built and our ambition to continue growing together with the region.
Each country in the Nordics offer a unique climate and market dynamics, yet share a strong focus on sustainability, local production, and technological innovation.
Lighted (supplemental-lighting) greenhouse production is a defining feature in the north: Finland has been a frontrunner for decades, and Norway has scaled up rapidly over the past 5 years- especially in cucumber and tomato. Sweden is developing lighted acreage more gradually, whileDenmark and Sweden combine strong summer production with seasonal imports when energy and labor costs are high.
Alongside greenhouse crops, open field leafy production also plays an important role in the region. Enza Zaden is a major supplier in Iceberg and a long standing market leader in Mini Romaine across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Instead of open field lettuce Finland has strong hydroponic lettuce production — a segment that continues to grow throughout the Nordics.
Our strength comes from close collaboration with distributors and growers across the region. In Norway we partner with LOG AS, in Sweden and Denmark with SW Horto, and in Finland with Schetelig, trusted distributors who act as our daily eyes and ears in the market. Their local knowledge and close contact with growers enable effective co development of high wire, lighted greenhouse assortments, while long term open field leafy trials in Denmark and Sweden further deepen our regional fit
The new Nordics webpage is designed to be a practical, informative, and accessible platform for growers, partners, and industry professionals across the region. Visitors can expect:
