Enza Zaden has two R&D stations and a commercial subsidiary In Italy. One of the research stations and the commercial subsidiary are situated in Tarquinia, a city on the coast, about an hour’s drive north of Rome. The breeding efforts focus on outdoor vegetables such as cauliflower and onion and a few typically Italian products such as fennel and radicchio.
The second station, located in Sicily, supports the breeding activities of Tarquinia. It also focuses on tomatoes, sweet peppers, aubergines and cucumbers. We also have a demonstration greenhouse in Sicily.
