Tomorrow’s tomatoes, today

Great taste is what gets people's attention – and what gets them eating! At Enza Zaden, our innovation engine never stops revving wand it’s dedicated to one clear goal: developing tomato varieties that are not only more resilient but also bursting with flavor. With knowledge, creativity, and decades of experience in our toolbox, we aim to empower our growers to meet market demands and elevate their growing practices.

By standing next to the grower, we understand what the grower needs. Yet at the same time, we are always thinking 5 years– or longer – ahead, creating solutions for future challenges. We apply the latest techniques to experiment with new varieties that will exceed the growers’ expectations about what tomorrow’s tomatoes can look like.

HREZ

One recent innovation caused a shock of excitement in the seed industry: by developing HREZ, we were able to create high resistance to ToBRFV in a large collection of tomato varieties. Creating HREZ took years of dedicated research, smart use of our wild seed bank and countless trials. One day, a single plant showed remarkable promise. It carried exactly the right gene from our extensive wild seed vault. And that is how HREZ was born. Now we can grow! Read all about HREZ High Resistance
